Privacy Policy

Effective September 19, 2026

See What I Mean? (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a visual puzzle game. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices you have about your information.

1. Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we may collect your email address, player name, account identifier, and your optional preference to receive future Daily Challenge reminders. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive the basic account information that provider makes available for authentication, such as your email address and provider account identifier.

If you use email-and-password sign-in, authentication credentials are handled by our authentication provider. We do not receive or store your password in readable form.

Gameplay information

We collect information needed to operate the game and maintain your statistics, including puzzles played, guesses, hints used, solve status, solve time, streaks, leaderboard results, Party Play participation, scores, passes, captain activity, and similar gameplay events.

Public game information

Your player name and certain game results may be visible to other players through features such as Daily Challenge leaderboards and Party Play. Party Play may also display the temporary display name you choose for that room.

Device, session, and preference information

We use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies where needed to keep you signed in, maintain anonymous game sessions, remember preferences such as sound and volume, and support normal game functionality. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may also process standard technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request logs, and diagnostic data needed to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and authenticate accounts;
  • operate Daily Challenge, Free Play, Practice, Party Play, profiles, and leaderboards;
  • save progress, results, streaks, scores, and other game statistics;
  • remember game and audio preferences;
  • support and troubleshoot the service;
  • protect the game, our users, and our systems from abuse or security threats;
  • understand how the game is used so we can improve it; and
  • send optional game-related communications if you choose to receive them.

3. Service providers and social sign-in

We use service providers to operate See What I Mean?, including Supabase for authentication and backend services and Vercel for hosting and application infrastructure. If you choose social sign-in, Google or Meta/Facebook also processes information according to its own privacy policy.

These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services or as otherwise permitted by their own terms and applicable law.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the game, when required by law, to protect the safety or security of the service or its users, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of the business.

5. Data retention

We keep account and gameplay information for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain game integrity and statistics, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Some information may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form that no longer identifies you.

6. Your choices and account deletion

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account. Signed-in players can permanently delete their account from the Profile page by choosing Delete Profile. You can also review our Data Deletion Instructions or contact help@seewhatimean-thegame.com if you cannot access your account.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with it unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or other legitimate operational purposes.

7. Children’s privacy

See What I Mean? is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the game changes. If we make changes, we will update the effective date shown above. Material changes may also be communicated through the website when appropriate.
